ABOUT ME
I grew up in Yorkshire but moved to London in my twenties and love it. I have spent most of my working career in Human Resources but in my early forties I decided to follow my interest in personal growth and trained as a psychotherapist.
I trained at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE) where I attained my post-graduate Diploma in integrative (transpersonal) Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am registered with the leading professional body for psychotherapists in the UK - the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and I regularly attend training to broaden the knowledge and skills I bring to my practice.
I am also a qualified Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) practitioner, accredited and certified with EFT International. EFT involves tapping on the face and upper body and can reduce anxiety and negative emotions.
HOW I WORK
I’m an integrative psychotherapist (PG Dip. UKCP) which means I’m able to draw on many different therapeutic approaches in our work together. My main focus is to be present with you, listen and talk things through and that’s what we’ll spend most of our sessions doing. However if you’re open to it, and it’s appropriate for you, there are a number of tools I might use such as EFT, working with dreams or working with parts in an IFS informed way.
In addition to running my private practice, I have worked at various psychotherapy services in London which means I’m experienced in working with a wide range of issues. In terms of me as a person, I’m warm and personable and will help you feel welcome.
